These learning materials are designed to give teachers, museum educators, librarians, and community members the greatest flexibility in using the PBS series.

Art21 produces a FREE, 32-page Educators’ Guide to accompany each season of the PBS series. Guides provide background information about featured artists and themes from the broadcast series and are designed for use in a wide range of cultural and educational institutions: schools, museums, galleries, teacher training programs, and community-based programs.

The Learning with Art21 Guide provides an introduction to contemporary art. This guide outlines strategies for exploring the work of artists living and creating today, using relevant questions and discussion. It includes ideas about how to facilitate conversations on contemporary art, use media to support learning, and address national education standards.
screening guides
Full-color screening guides are available for each episode and season of the Art in the Twenty-First Century television series. Each screening guide includes: tips on getting started, episode synopses, artist biographies, discussion questions, group activities, and links to additional resources online.
